| Une news qui devrait faire plaisir aux fans de l'homme chocolat:
MADDY ESSAIE D'avoir un six-pack lol:
The six-pack fitness syndrome gripping Bollywood has reached Chennai. Guess who’s working towards one now? Maddy! Oh, yes, chocolate faced Madhavan. He went all the way to London to work out. Apparently Madhavan, unlike so many stars who take vacations abroad to indulge their palates, puts himself on a strict diet and does a punishing physical workout with trainers. His idea of a break from work is to go as far away as possible and shed pounds. But now with the six-pack abs fever reaching new heights, Madhavan is said to have worked out even harder. The results? He looks smashing, says everyone who has seen him recently. Even his face has a lean, chiseled look, minus his baby fat.
It’s quite likely that his new image is part of a huge movie project – a Bollywood movie maybe, or could he have a part in the new Mani Ratnam film? Fans will recall that the one time Maddy looked totally in shape was for Mani’s Ayutha Eluthu, playing a violent henchman. Is Maddy getting ready to play a role that requires something close to a six-pack fitness or is the star just keen to stay fit at all times?

| Maddy s'apprete à tourner un film avec Shruti Hassan la fille de Kamal...
Director Nishikant Kamat after an impressive Tamil debut with Evano Oruvan, is geared up to commence his next venture, once again with his favorite actor cum friend Madhavan. The film is titled ‘Enrenrum Punnagai’ the famous opening lines from a song from Maddy’s first film Alaipayudhe. The interesting fact about this film is that Shruthi Hassan, daughter of Kamal Hassan will be making her screen entry after declining many offers.
Enrendrum Punnagai will have music scored by Shankar-Ehson-Loy and it has been reported that the trio had composed six songs in just one week. The theme is touted to be a romantic thriller in which heroine Shruthi is slated to sing two songs. Hero Maddy, to look younger and to match with the young and beautiful Shruthi, has gone on a strict diet and exercise regimen and has shed a lot of flab. Enrendrum Punnagai will go on floors in June.
Pour info, il est en couverture du dernier filmfare. Dès que je peux, je poste des scans... | |

| When director Vikram K Kumar showed the script of Yaavarum Nalam (All fine here) to Madhavan, he had plans to make the film only in Tamil. But he did not reckon on Madhavan. The actor liked the script so much that he had Vikram recite the script to Ad Labs as well. An impressed Ad Labs decided to make it a bilingual along with Sujatha Cine Arts, which earlier made Kireedam in Tamil. "They felt the script was not culture-centric as it deals with a universal subject," said Vikram. The Hindi version is titled 13-B Mein Sab Khairiyat Hain. Yaavarum Nalam is a story about the sudden happenings in the life of Manohar (Madhavan) after he and his brother buy a huge flat (13-B). Acting as Madhavan's wife Priya in both the versions is Neetu Chandra. His mother in Tamil is Saranya while Poonam Dhillon does the role in Hindi. Vikram introduces Sanjay as Madhavan's elder brother in both Hindi and Tamil. The director has also roped in Dhritiman Chatterji, Sachin Khedkar and Deepak Dobriyal -- all who play major roles in both the Hindi and Tamil versions. Telugu actor Ravi Babu plays Madhavan's friend in Tamil and Mani Sharma in Hindi. National award winning cinematographer P C Sreeram (he shot Cheeni Kum) is the cinematographer of Yaavarum Nalam. Shankar Ehsan Loy have composed the music. | |

| Si vous avez vu la pub airtel avec Maddy et Vidya Balan, vous vous demandez surement s'où vient cette alchimie entre les deux acteurs...
-------------------------------------------------------
Mumbai, May 19 (IANS) The secret behind the chemistry between Vidya Balan and Madhavan in the Airtel ads is out. It is Madhavan's two-year-old son Vedant. The child bonded so beautifully with Vidya on the sets of "Guru" that she became a part of Madhavan and his wife Sarita's inner circle.
In fact the cell phone company has now decided to put out a series of ads featuring Madhavan and Vidya as a couple connecting emotionally on the phone. Madhavan has been running in and out of Mumbai to complete these ads.
"Initially I was only the brand ambassador for Airtel's southern market. But now they've signed me on for the whole country," Madhavan told IANS.
"We've shot a series of ads with Vidya and me. For the last one week I've been running in and out Mumbai and Chennai. During the daytime I'm in Chennai shooting for a Tamil film. Then I take a night flight to Mumbai to dub for the ads," the southern star said.
Curiously, Maddy, as Madhavan is fondly known, and Vidya have hardly shot together for these ads about love and togetherness.
"We've just done one shot together. The rest has been shot with the two of us separately. It's strange people have noticed so much chemistry between us when we aren't even together in the ad. My wife Sarita loves the ad. She thinks Vidya is better than me in the ad. But then she's my harshest critic. All three of us Sarita, Vedant and I adore Vidya."
Vidya has done ads prior to her acting career. This is her first ad after starring in films.
She thoroughly enjoyed the experience. "Years ago I was supposed to do a Tamil film with Maddy. Then we were also supposed to do a Deepa Mehta film together. I think Maddy and I were destined to special things in limited space," says Vidya.
"Both of us had cameos in Mani Ratnam's 'Guru'. People still talk about our romantic scene in the rain (including a kiss). And now the Airtel ads. It's unbelievable how much chemistry people have seen between us in those few seconds. I always say it's the moments that make a romance."

| Un joli article du Times of India sur Madhavan...Ses projets en cours ont l'air excellents et ceux à venir encore plus forts:
While that’s enough to break the hearts of thousands of R Madhavan female fans – only his heroines get lucky you see – you heave a sigh of relief when during the chat he confesses, “I’m a true family man.” But then that’s Maddy’s charm – spontaneous, funny and charming as can be, with those intense romantic eyes and a milliondollar smile. To put it simply Madhavan is - fun.
Just over with hosting the Filmfare Awards down South, Maddy squeezes out time for a chat. “Since I wasn’t getting an award this year, I was happy giving it away,” quips Maddy for whom “sense of humour comes naturally.” But then everything seems to come naturally to him, including romance. Take the example of his recent commercial with Vidya Balan where the chemistry between the two is so strong that they seem a real life item. “The credit should go to the ad-director who managed to extract what both Vidya and I are best at.” Natural chemistry with intensity, perhaps! Was it an outcome of the chemistry you had shared in Mani Ratnam’s Guru? “Not exactly. I got signed up long before Guru. And when they were thinking about who to cast opposite me, since I'd already shared a great chemistry with Vidya and I was good friends with her, when they came up with her name, I jumped. She’s the best.”
Not just Vidya, think of Madhavan in any of his roles and he seems to have made that connect with his heroines. But how has he managed to steer clear of link-ups? “Because I'm a much married man,” he grins, “Also since I’m based in Chennai, I don't feature in the gossip in Mumbai. I'm not an interesting copy, what else?” Having said that, he's quick to add, “Otherwise also I believe over-familiarity kills chemistry. There has to be a decent distance between the two to be able to attract the other. And I follow that completely to make the on-screen chemistry with my heroine look real.” Has he managed that image of a ‘no link-up’ guy down South too? “Very unfortunately... yes! In fact, the media tried it a couple of times and I was really excited but they (the so called linkups) died a natural death.”
Back to work – having worked in five of Mani’s films in South and Bollywood, what makes him deliver a hit each time? “My performance in Mani sir’s movies stems from the great respect I have for him. His work involves so much of passion; blood and glory that one a lw ays wants to give more than his best. And for him to think that I was worthy of the roles he gave me, is a huge compliment.” But despite the excellent strike rate Maddy clears, “We can’t continue to do all movies together. I'm sure he'll take a break soon and we'll get back together at a later stage.”
But talk about Rituparno Ghosh’s Sunglass where after working with Konkana Sen Sharma and Raima, the actor was all praises for the Bong beauties. Isn’t he far too choosy about Hindi films? “That because the publicity of my Hindi films – which include Raj Kumar Hirani’s Three Idiots, Nishikant Kamath’s Mumbai Meri Jaan, Sikander and Leena Yadav’s Teen Patti with Amitabh Bachchan, hasn’t begun yet.” But having worked with the best, Maddy is now “waiting for an opportunity to work with Rajnikanth and Shah Rukh Khan.” | |

| Une interview de Maddy, rien de bien nouveau sous le soleil... enfin presque... ___________ Not for nothing is he Kollywood’s eternal chocolate hero. With a killer smile and eyes that reach your soul, R Madhavan has hit the combo jackpot of Kollywood and Bollywood. TOI schmoozes the actor ... Wasn’t it a ‘To sir, with love’ romance in your case? It’s Teachers' Day today, so take us through your love saga... Yes, quite a story that. I was in Kolhapur taking classes on public speaking and personality development. My wife Sarita’s cousin had raved about my sessions to her. So, she decided to check me out. Next thing I knew, she had fallen completely for me. I was only too happy to play along. It was on our first dinner date that I realised we were meant for each other. It wasn’t all moonlight and mush, but I knew it in my bones that I’d want to spend the rest of my life with her. Then, I had this dream about having three baby girls with her. If there is indeed truth about the universe sending signals, here was a very strong one. We had a seven-year courtship, after which we were officially man and wife. How does Sarita cope with your huge female following, and how do you attract so much attention? I practise black magic and voodoo to keep them under my spell! Honestly, I don’t know how I have remained this chocolate boy for so long. I am 39. I guess they just love me for who I am and what I do on screen. As for Sarita, she’s an amazingly settled woman. A rock solid anchor who keeps me grounded and moored. She plays the Libran to my Gemini. It’s easy for things to go wrong when you are in such a high visibility zone as I am in. But she’s one person who understands the demands of my profession, its warts, moles, frills and flaws. She gives me my space and understands my need to be with myself at certain times. I could be at the bar with the boys or be cooped up for hours at end with my aeromodelling project, but you’ll never hear her complaining. You were once Mani Ratnam’s blue-eyed boy. But now, there are reports of a fallout with him. This is nonsense. In fact, I feel offended that I should have to respond to this. I have an enviable record of five films with Mani sir, and we share an excellent director-actor rapport. We both read these reports and had a hearty laugh about it. I’d give a limb to be in his projects, but it’s foolhardy to think I’ll land up a role each and every time. There were reports stating I was miffed that Abhishek Bachchan landed the lead in Guru . Give me a break. Mani sir is a legend and knows exactly what he wants out of his cast. Abhishek was superb in Guru , and I think he did a far terrific job than I could have. Mani sir is not someone who sticks to any successful combination, say the way a Karan Johar would with SRK. Believe me, this media-engineered fallout has to be one of the laziest and most unintelligent assumptions ever made. You have moved to Bollywood. Is it because your Tamil movies haven’t done too well recently? Again, not true. It’s not hits and flops which decide an actor’s success, worth or lack of it. If you ask me, my worth lies in how much the masses have accepted me, and by that token I must say I am successful. If every hero were to be written off as a has-been after a flop, do you think SRK, Rajinikanth, Govinda would have enjoyed this immense following? My survival mantra has been to defy being typecast. Both in terms of the story and in terms of the character I play, I like to go in for reinvention. This pattern of unpredictability, I think, enhances my appeal as an actor. I maintain a balance of two Tamil and two Hindi films in a year, but let me state this unequivocally that Tamil films are my priority. It is and always will be. Naan, Aaval, Eedu has been in the making for sometime now. When is it being released? Producer Gaurav Sharma is going to town talking about its imminent release. The truth is that there’s still about 10 days of work to be done in the film, but because of financial problems, the project has got stalled. I don’t want the public to be misled. They should know that the film is nowhere near completion or release. Your chemistry with Vidya Balan in the Airtel television spots is electric. What gives? Everyone’s been talking about the crackling chemistry we share, and I think the credit goes to the ad director. Considering that Vidya and I hardly shot together, it is quite something for the chemistry to be so evident. Vidya is a phenomenal actress and I share a wonderful rapport with her. In fact, my entire family does. My little one Vedant is a big fan of hers. After your onscreen kiss with Vidya Balan in ‘Guru’ you swore never to kiss again in your films. Why? Where did you source that one from? Why should I object to kissing if a scene demanded it? Sorry, I have no moral compunctions about kissing. Kissing is the highest symbol of romance on celluloid, and let’s not forget I am an actor. I’ll do whatever my role demands. There are no black and white areas. You have this rather squeaky-clean image. Isn’t the film industry littered with temptations? Call me boring or unexciting, but for me, it’s home after pack up. That’s my comfort zone. Yes, temptations do exist, but I do not succumb to it. Where will such temptations lead to? Losing a family of 20 years for a mere 20 minutes of pleasure is just not worth it, and I am not brave enough. But I have a huge crush on Hollywood actress Meryl Streep. So my wife and I have entered into an unwritten pact. She’ll let me flirt with Streep if I can give her the go ahead to have an affair with SRK! You know if I were to become familiar with my co-stars, it would, in one fell swoop, kill the chemistry we portray on screen. Let’s say if I were to, at the end of a day’s shoot, take my co-star to the coffee shop for a late night dinner and conversation, I know for sure that this extra bit of familiarity would ruin our chemistry. The unrelinquished attraction disappears and the magic goes away. I'd be short-changing my audience. You are a gadget freak I have always had a fascination for engines, and if there’s any outstanding feat in engineering, then the techno geek in me surfaces and wants to check out everything the gadget promises to be. Right now, I am completely sold on GPS. Heroines you’d like to work with? I’d love to work with Preity Zinta. Someone should give this pairing a shot. As for Kollywood, I’d love to be cast opposite Trisha. We’ll rock. ( :beurk: n'importe quoi Maddy)There’s a buzz that Karan Johar is signing you on. Now, that’s really big league. I have heard that too. And it’s true. I am in on his My name is Khan but we are still working out the modalities. Yeah, this is seriously the big league! Things went wrong between you and Shruti Haasan, didn’t they? I am afraid every time something doesn’t work out, it doesn’t have to be anything sensational . The truth could be as prosaic as date problems, as it was in this case. Okay, you have a nanosecond to answer this — Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan... Kamal Haasan. He’s an atom bomb of talent, and one of the most versatile actors we’ve ever seen. Rajini is a rock star. Robot will be a mind-blowing movie. Dreams to realise... Professionally, I’d want to make an international Tamil movie, something on the lines of what Jackie Chan does in Chinese movies. On the personal front, I’d like nothing more than being a super dad to Vedant. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/India_Buzz/To_Maddy_with_love/articleshow/3445298.cms | |
