Prabhu Deva Sundaram, better known just as Prabhu Deva, born 3 April 1973,(c'est pas vrai, il a que 34ans ) is a choreographer, actor and film director in India. He is popularly called "India's Michael Jackson" for his fast dance movements. His first movie as a dance director was Vetri Vizha (Tamil) (year). He has since choreographed over 100 movies. He is Receipent of a National Award for Best Choreographer for the film "Minsara Kanavu".

Before starting as a full time film actor, he did some song sequences in films. His first movie as a hero was in Indhu with actress Roja. Prabhu Deva went onto win a Filmfare Best Actor Award South.

He is the son of the legendary dance master Sundaram, and dancing is his passion. From choreography he went on to establish himself as an actor. He became a star in Kollywood with his seemingly impossible dance steps. Prabhu Deva's success can be attributed more to his dancing than anything else. He has a large following in the Tamil, Telugu and Kannada film industry.

There are lot of changes in the usually media shy Prabhudeva. Like his dance, his talk is energetic too. Elated by the success of his directorial venture 'Pokkiri,' he met the press and the first question directed at him was about his shy nature.




You are usually shy, so it's surprising you are suddenly meeting the press?

I have become braver after becoming a director. I've also grown older, so I am more contained now.


Your next project?

I am directing Chiranjeevi in Telugu film 'Shankar Dada Zindabad.' It is a good experience to direct a senior actor like him. After this film is over, I will direct Salman khan in the Hindi remake of 'Pokkiri.' I have not thought of what film to do next in Tamil. I would love to direct films of great actors like Rajini or Kamal.



What do you think has made you a worthy director?

Time has taught me a lot of things.


Will you act again in a film with your brothers Raju Sundaram and Nagendra?

There are no such plans for the moment.


Is it necessary to have so many background dancers in the songs?

Why not? It's a job for them, so let them earn a livelihood.


Isn't that a needless expense for producers?

No producer has given undue thought to it. If you make a film (to the reporter who asked the question)(mdrrr il se laisse pas marcher dessus Prabhu,bravo!), perhaps you could do away with the dancers!

As dancer, actor and director, Prabhu Deva has proved himself. The way he moves his body when he dances, gives you the illusion he is all cartilage and no bone! But when he stepped behind the camera and gave
a super hit, we realized that there was much more to him than we knew!

Prabhu Deva's last appearance on screen was in a short film by Santhosh Sivan on AIDS. And it is this performance that has caught the attention of Mira Nair, who wants to rope him in her next project, an adaptation of the novel, Shantharam by Gregory David Roberts. Playing the title role in the movie is Johnny Depp, who will also co-produce the movie. Other Indian actors who are part of this project are Amitabh Bachchan and Konkana Sen.

Mira Nair, who has given us some great entertainers such as Vanity Fair, Salaam Bombay and Monsoon Wedding, is pretty hung up on having Prabhu Deva in her movie. But given his busy schedule, will he be able to find time to act?

Alors la c'est du casting, j'avais déja entendu parlé de ce projet depuis un petit moment, mais pas concernant la présence de Prabhu Deva!

Il a encore l'âge de jouer les héros...ca tombe bien. On dit que Prabhu pourrait revenir sur le devant de la scène:

Buzz is that Prabhu Deva would act in a film to be directed by Thangar Bachchan. Sneha would play the heroine. Ayngaran Internationals would produce the film. Meanwhile Prabhu Deva is keen on completing 'Villu' to ensure a release by January this year.

'Villu' features Vijay and Nayantara in the lead roles. A major portion of the movie was shot in Bangkok. Vijay and Prabhu Deva had earlier rendered a hit in 'Pokkiri'.

Excellent danseur en effet, je l'ai adoré dans khadalaan. Il est aussi bon réalisateur pour preuve pokkiri, son caméo est top dans le film; en revanche, je me demande si ca sera la même chose avec Salman Khan dans le remake de Pokkiri (ben c'est qu'il est costaud le gars, ca va donner un autre style pour la baston et pour la danse!).

quan j'ai vu s photos j'ai cash repensais a sa danse avec madhuri dans "Pukar".d'ailleur a un moment je doutais si c'etait lui ou pas.et il a dansé ausi avec vijay dans le film "Pokkiri" au tout debut e effectivement il danse super bien

Après un énorme succès au nord cette année avec Wanted (bah oui, le Saleman n'a pas rebuté les spectateurs... allez comprendre... lol) Prabhudeva revient à Kolly pour tourner un film avec... Jayam Ravi (non, je ne dis rien...), film intitulé Paris.. Alors viendront-ils par chez nous pour au moins un clip? Aucune idée, je 'nai pas réussi à glaner plus d'infos pour l'instant...
En revanche Prabhudeva voulait que Nayantara soit l'héroine, chose que Ravi a catégoriquement refusé (il est bien ce petit finalement lol). Donc les producteurs essaient d'engager Shruti Hassan pour jouer aux côtés de JR.
Le film devrait débuter en janvier 2010.

Prabhudeva ne va pas chômer cette année parceque juste après, normalement en juin 2010, il va réaliser un autre film en hindi, avec Abhishek Bachchan, produit par AB Corp, la société des Bachchan. Le film serait le remake hindi (encore un) du succès de Vijay "Ghilli" (déjà remake du film telugu Okkadu ). Sincèrement, je ne vois pas trop Abhi dans ce style de film, mais bon why not, il s'est déjà entrainé à danser sur Appedi podu en tout cas

Dis-moi ma Kendra, Jayam Ravi, c'est le flan, c'est ça ?

Au contraire, je vois bien Abhi dans un rôle de héros massala et puis sa grande silhouette dégingandée dansant le dappa, ça vaut le détour

Prabhu, son papa, son frère vont danser ensemble dans un film ( je savais même pas qu'il avait un frère qui danse aussi ^^ ) avec V Sundaram .





Veteran dance choreographer V Sundaram, who is donning the greasepaint for a movie titled Pa Ra Palanisamy, shakes his leg for a song with his sons and popular choreographers Raju Sundaram and Prabhudeva.

Sundaram has choreographed in over 1000 films in various Indian languages. He has worked with over three generation of actors and evolved a distinct style for himself.

Pa Ra Palanisamy features Sundaram, Srinivas and Meenakshi Kailash in key roles. Pandu and Alex are also in the cast. Dheena is scoring the music

while M Razzaq has penned the story and screenplay besides wielding the megaphone.

Produced by Thangam Real Pictures (P Thangavel), the movie features a peppy number which was shot recently. It featured Sundaram and his sons dancing in a huge set.

Prabhu Deva has said that Ich, which he is directing with Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani in the lead, will be on the lines of Unakkum Enakkum and Sathosh Subramaniam. The director says that Ich is a romantic flick that will captivate the audience. He praised the hard work put in by the lead pair.

Prabhu adds that Ich will be to Hansika what Unakkum Enakkum did to Trisha and Santhosh Subramaniam to Genelia. It is important to note here that Unakkum Enakkum and Santhosh Subramaniam earned laurels for Trisha and Genelia respectively.

Prabhu Deva’s career as a director in Bollywood has got a commendable recognition with the highly acclaimed Bollywood director Sanjay Leela Bhansali signing him to direct a film that will be produced by him.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the man behind some path breaking Hindi films like Black, Devdas and Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.

Speaking about the big climb Prabhu Deva has said that he has always loved the films of Sanjay Leela Bhansali and was moved by the humility of the big man when he was in Chennai to discuss the film some time ago.

Prabhu Deva said he has agreed to do the movie now and he will start the film after his Tamil film ‘Engeyum Kadhal’ starring ‘Jayam’ Ravi hitting the screens. Akshay Kumar will be the hero and the heroine may be Akshay’s lucky charm Katrina Kaif.
Prabhu Deva also has a Tamil film to do for GK Film Corporation which has Vishal as the hero.

Prabhu Deva’s last Hindi film ‘Wanted’ was a huge hit and it resurrected the slumping career of Salman Khan. While ‘Wanted’ was a remake of his Tamil hot ‘Pokkiri’, the proposed film will be an original script they say.

ouai, à suivre... moi c'est Akshay katrina qui me derangent le plus!

ceci dit, les gens pensent que depuis que salman a été dirigé par prabhu, quelque chose a changé en lui... il serait devenu bon acteur!

j'aime bien Akshay, mais si c'est encore un role où il fera l'abruti, meme dirigé par prabhu, je ne pourrais pas!

en tout cas, faudrait pas qu'ils déserte le sud notre prabhu!

Ca me ferait presque mal de l'admettre mais j'adore le sari de Nayanthara ! La broche qu'elle a sur l'épaule est vraiment trop belle
