Preity Zinta, if rumours are to be believed, will cast two leading French actors for her first home production. The buzz is that Preity has roped in internationally acclaimed French actor Fabrice Luchini to play the main lead in her film. The second would be an younger actor, whose name has not been revealed yet.

The film will be directed by Prem Soni, apparently a close friend of Preity. Soni had last directed Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor- starrer dud Main Aurr Mrs Khanna. " This is an international project from Preity's production house. It will go on floor by the next three months. Part of the film will be shot in India but major portions will be filmed in Paris," a source said.

The film is a romantic comedy, essentially about Indians, which will also deal with the French culture. The production house has planned to make the film in three languages - Hindi, English and French. " Along with Preity, some other Indian actors will also be a part of the film, but no one has been finalised yet," the source added.

Preity announced the floating of her own production house, a few months ago, in an apparent bid to save her sinking career. She was last seen doing an item number in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna, and ever since she hasn't appeared on the big screen. Before announcing her first international venture, she was seen on the small screen hosting the reality show Ab India Todega, which failed to bring her back to the limelight.

Both the producer and the director are currently in Paris, discussing the film with actors, and scouting for suitable locations for the shoot. " The second lead will also be a French actor who will be finalised soon. The official announcement about the film will be made once Preity is back," the source added.

Preity had earlier talked of producing an action flick, but she has shelved that idea as she didn't want to miss the opportunity to work with Fabrice. Fabrice, who was recently seen in films such as Service Entrance, Potiche and The Girl from Monaco, is a well- known French actor. This will be his first venture with an Indian production house.

Preity, who had rocketed to fame with films with actors such as Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan, had been spoilt for choice of films at one point of time in her career. It is surprising that Bollywood has forgotten her for such a long time. We can only hope her international venture helps her to make a grand comeback, now.

Moi je vois bien Tahar Rahim. Après son film chinois, et son aventure antico-bretonne, il continuerait à diversifier son parcours.

But Preity is ready to grace the big screen again in a lead role in an upcoming flick ‘Ishq in Paris’. The movie is an Indo-French project and is to be directed by Prem Soni.

In the movie Preity plays a half-French half-Indian girl who falls in love in Paris. For her character preparation Preity Zinta has hired a trainer to talk in flawless French.

The director Prem Soni is more than confident that Preity Zinta will speak French perfectly.

“From the start, we were very sure that Preity would get her French absolutely right with correct accent and pronunciation. We did not want to dub her French dialogues.

The movie is set to be shot in Paris. But Paris being one of the costliest city, shooting there will be no joke. The movie ‘7 Days in Paris’ featuring Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif has been shelved due to the cost.

“I'm aware of this. But for 'Ishq in Paris', it was always Paris or nothing.


I couldn't locate this love story anywhere else. I started writing the script two years ago. From the start I was sure it had to be Paris or nothing,” says the director when asked about the cost.

Preity Zinta is not only concentrating on French but also on toning her body. The actress has hired Tracy Anderson, a Hollywood celebrity trainer, who has trained the likes of Madonna, Jennifer Aniston, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.

“Preity will play a chic Parisian in the film for which she is going all out to get the global look. She has roped in famed Hollywood fitness trainer Tracy Anderson, who works with top celebs in Hollywood. Tracy is working to create a lean and toned look for Preity for the movie; with the film Preity is certainly going to redefine style. Zinta has now started training in LA. She has taken the popular Tracy Anderson Method — an intensive fitness regime meant to tone the body and get that perfect shape”, says a source.

The movie is set to go on floors in August and is rumored to have two versions, one for Indian audience and another for International.
